I wish I felt bad...

....about buying this sweater. But I DON'T!
I went by Pin Me today, to drop something off. Of course then I played dress up. Fall is upon us, with Winter close on it's heels, in other words, IT'S COLD. I love the brand, Gentle Fawn, and have a few other items of theirs in my closet. I love it.

Last week I also purchased 2 sweater vests from Forever 21. I had to lay to rest my other black one, which not even my electric sweater shaver could save.

I picked a black basic with buttons. I have been wearing it with my Polka Dot 9 to 5 blouse from my line.

I also went for this one in Navy. It's a bit longer and has cute pockets.

So far I am still wearing a back brace for my angry back, and masking it is proving to be a bit difficult. Thankfully it is fall, and time for sweaters, and bulkier clothing.

Boots

Boots are a must have for living in Oregon. Sadly, I have a very hard time finding flat boots that are also stylish for everyday wear. I love fun boots with heels, but I can't tromp around my neighborhood in them with all of the leaves and puddles. Here are my selections (and a few in my closet) for functional boots for this fall.

This lovely red number is by Jessica Bennett.

These are surprisingly from Target (and also in my wardrobe). Although they are synthetic, they are comfy and very cute with the wedge heel.

I'm not usually a big fan of Madden Girl, but these little booties are adorable.

Modern Vintage is a new brand to me, but I love the texturing of the leather and the flap on the back to the heel.

I love Red shoes, so I threw in this fun pair of ankle boots by Not Rated. I'm a sucker for the faux snake skin.

Ok so I was 50/50 on these until I saw the toe shape (below). Bronx always has great boots. The draping of the leather is great, and these would be great with a skirt or with denim.

I am REALLY picky about the toe shape on my shoes.

My favorite boots from last season are Chinese Laundry. So these would be a cute upgrade. Plus they are shiny, and have the great exposed zipper.

I swear Frye is my arch nemesis (aside from the raglan sleeve). I always adore their boots, but have yet been able to afford a pair. These are fantastic, and have a great toe shape.

Again with the Frye boots. My favorite color this season is Grey, and I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of Grey footwear choices. I love the top of these boots.

Look I didn't talk about bows the entire post!

bows, Bows, BOWS!

Ok, so this entire post is dedicated to fall tops with bows on them. I know I am a little more then obsessed with bows, so I promise in the next post I will not mention them all. They look fancy, and I love 3-D things on garments, or faux effect. I am also getting out of my shopping "box" of discount or cheapie retailers (don't worry I still love you, but I am not for reals shopping). So if price were no object, this is what I would buy. I have also invited my friend Nina to join this blog, hopefully she will, and add some non-bow variety.

This brand, Primp, has really cute textile prints. I actually have a pink version of this shirt (different bow print) from spring. I wore the hell out of it all summer.

I want to snuggle up in this Viviane Westwood sweater. It looks cozy, and has lots of fun bows to be had with the ties.

I love the contrast on this one. The bow shape is also spectacular. Kind of looks like rick rack the way the bow is formed around the top. Is a little reminiscent of shirt Target had last holiday in their guest designer section, Erin Fetherston.

This one is giant and 3-d, and a textile nerd love for me. The knitting on the bow is awesome.

The length on this one is spectacular.

Simple, cute and washable from Charlotte Russe.

This is great under a sweater, or with a skirt for going out. The drape on the neck tie is great and almost creating a shawl collar effect.

Last but not least is the little cardigan. At first I thought the bow was knitted into the sweater, but upon closer inspection, it is a screen print. Ah, a trompe l'oeil, I love it.

Ok, hopefully I have gotten bows off my brain.

Shoe Crushes

Shoes are the best thing ever, they never make you look fat, and you can wear them every day in a row if you want. If I'm having a bad day I go to the Nordstrom Rack and try on tons of footwear. I think I have them on the brain, since I have been sewing Holiday dresses all weekend, and I am fantasizing about what shoes to wear with them.

Anyway, below are my new crushes from a few of my favorite shoes. Irregular Choice, Seychelles, and BC. I like all of them because they fit my feet well, and stand the amount of walking I do.

Bows, shiny, scalloping. DUH!!!!!!!!!!

Again with the bows, but this are a little bit more classy and subtle.

I would wear white after Labor Day for these.

I wear through red shoes faster then any other in my closet. These would look fantastic with a black cocktail dress.

If I had to pick a favorite of these, this would be them. I am really in love with grey right now.

I am not usually a large fan of clunky heels, but these are making me change my mind a little. However I will say that I overall NOT a fan of thick heels.

Last but not least, cute simple flats. Love the color.

Friday wants....

So BACK to those New Years resolutions.........NO SHOPPING! So if I were to shop at a certain uber cheap bodangle mecca, this is what I would buy.

I am a TOTAL sucker for anything that is a faux applique, Trompe l'oeil.

My two favorite colors of the season. Plus I love textured knits. I can't get enough of grey!!

Bows, on a belt. Need I say more?

On to the bodanglery. As previously stated, I love anything with faux effect. Love the black gold contrast of the zig zag design.

Adore the detail on these.

And for the gents, a snappy argyle. I love boys in argyle.

Good Night.

Busy busy

So I have not updated this blog in a while. I have a feeling I will be doing more in the near future. I have a back injury and have been told to scale back on the amount I work. (Day job + running/making my clothing line).

One of my favorite websites is dlisted.com I love shit talk. Anyway, I came across this glorious wonder this evening:

If you don't know, I am a bit more then obsessed with bows. Can someone please tell me where on earth I can get one with giant sequin bows on it?!?!! They are not on Wonderbra's site, but since the Dita Von Teese collection just launched today, maybe it's not updated.

Oh My!

Gee I've been busy...............really...............and maybe I have fallen off of the wagon a bit. Not too hard, but I have needed stuff for spring, a Vegas trip, and some new flats. I have decided that I will post some photos of the amazing deals I got, and some vintage scores from Estate Sales.

As soon as I get some time.

I also have another friend in a similar pickle. We talked of her blogging on here too, now I just need to ask her again if she wants to do it, sans wine. I also have to figure out how to add other bloggers on here too.

Hopefully I get things updated soon.

In GOOD news, I have paid of 27% of my credit card debt since the beginning of the year.

Footwear Frenzy!

I'm surprised that my nickname is not Amelda. I think I'm down to 60+ shoes at this point, which maybe an adult lifetime low. They live in the coat/storage closet that I have claimed for my own, after deeming the small closet in the bedroom not fit for my wardrobe.

So, as you can see this blog is properly named. Ha. Actually I know the secret to why women love shoes. They don't make you look fat. You see a shoe on the shelf, and you try it on. It looks better on your foot then not. So of course you have to take it home.

This year I am going to only purchase 12 pairs of shoes. Limited to 1 per month. To me that sounds like a lot of shoes. Then I realized that I had already purchased 5 pairs in the first 3 weeks of the year. So I have told myself I don't get a new pair until May.

Below are my picks for if I were not "cut off" until May. I think I can make it. It will be hard with all the new spring styles. I'm a sucker for a pee-a-boo toe.

Sneakers:

Leopard print is my favorite color. I actually passed these up at the Rack a month ago. They were still a little pricey (special designer Keds), and I usually do not wear sneakers. I wish I would have picked them up for spring, before my shoe ban.

Also, Keds. These are fantastic. I love the bow, and the bias binding around the shoe, it reminds me of some vintage packs of it I have from my Great Aunt Mabel.

This is my favorite height of heel. Taller then a kitten, but low enough you won't fall off after a few cocktails. I have a few pairs of shoes from this brand, Poetic Lisence, and love how comfortable they are. Plus come on, hot pink fringe, YESSSS!

Again, favorite heel height. The V shape of the blue on the toe is what drew my attention to this shoe. I love the shiney and matte of the suede and patent leather together.

Oh look, my favorite color again. I wish I could have these to teeter around Las Vegas in. Gold shiney, leopard, a bow, AND bowdanlges?

These have taunted me at the Rack. Good thing they were pretty spendy there, or they would now reside in my closet. I am helpless against little details, like the pinking on the gold trim around the top.

The shape of these drew my attention to them. The toe looks very long, but I like that in an odd way. Also, I'm a huge fan of the wedge that is as skinny has a heel. It creates a great silohette from behind. These look cozy and remind me of a librarian.

Too bad I won't be wearing these this spring. The cut of the shoe would definately yield some toe cleavage. Also the metal snaps around the ankle strap area great industrial detail to a dainty flat.

Yeah, leopard print, bow and scalloping. The print of the leopard is a little bland, which is a suprise from a Betsey Johnson shoe. She usually has the most fantastic of animal prints.

So cute!! Oh wait, I wore these today. Since I own them. Best flat I have bought in the last year. (Just had to throw them in since I found them online)

The yellow pops so well off of this grey snakeskin. If I had these on my feet I would stare at them all day.

Another thing I have a fondness for is cheesy looking gold chain. I also love the print.

Kelly green is one of my most favorite colors. Last season there were lots of green shoes, and I'm really glad to see some carry over. These are so sweet and feminine, the tiny strap is great.

Love the swiss cheese holes on these little guys, they would be great for summertime. The toe is what sold me on them. Gathering is such a fun detail, and the faux grommet with the leather pulled through is interesting detail, that would again, have me staring at my feet all day.

Who can't love a pair of shoes with little multi color hearts on the inside? This is a pair I would never wear in real life, but love ogeling them on the shelf. Yellow and I are not friends.

Last on my list, the ever cute, t-strap Mary Janes. This shoe is very visually interesting to me. It almost looks like something made from clay. The thick piping and large t-strap are not dainty, but rather bulky, but yet still feminine. Also, I love anything that is high contrast.

I'm sure I'll be back with more shoes, that is all for this week in shoe land. 2 weeks no shopping and doing great. Actually, 2 weeks, no buying anything but essentials. Lots of window shopping. I'm determined to break up with credit cards, and this time it will be for good.
